Who Should Replace Tiger Woods on EA Sports Golf Game?

Who Should Replace Tiger Woods on EA Sports Golf Game?

Yahoo Contributor Network
COMMENTARY | Now that Electronic Arts Sports has ended its 15-year business relationship with Tiger Woods, fans of the company's hit video game franchise are beginning to wonder who will replace Tiger on the game's cover.
Here is a list of potential suitors to the "golf video game throne":
Bubba Watson
The former Masters champion has already appeared on the cover of EA Sport's golf game (the special 2013 Masters Edition) and is basically a video game character in himself. The long-hitting lefty from Baghdad, Fla., would be a fun alternative to Woods and could bring a new attitude to a video game franchise that has declined in sales in recent years.
Rickie Fowler
Like Watson, Rickie is a colorful player who could bring a cutting-edge, youthful twist to the golf game series. In addition to being one of the most popular and recognizable players on the PGA Tour, Fowler also brings a flurry of interests to the table should EA look to feature him predominantly in their next game. Come on, who wouldn't want to ride a dirt bike on Pebble Beach?
Keegan Bradley
Aside from being one of the most talented players on Tour, Bradley has risen to superstar status in a very short period. His memorable partnership with Phil Mickelson at the 2012 Ryder Cup proved he has a passionate, fiery side he's not scared to show on the course, which is exactly the type of boost the EA Sports golf game needs.
Jordan Spieth
If EA Sports wants to appeal to the younger demographic -- and Rickie Fowler is busy -- Spieth would be a perfect second option to grace the cover. The reigning PGA Tour Rookie of the Year is expecting big things in 2014, so there will be plenty of buzz around this guy for EA to latch onto in a new game title.
Phil Mickelson
Alright, alright. This one is a bit of a stretch, I'll admit. I'm sure Lefty has a list of other things on his mind besides being on the cover of a video game. But you can't tell me that Mickelson wouldn't at least raise an eyebrow at the notion of replacing his longtime rival Tiger on the cover of his former video game.
Nobody!
Finally, what if EA Sports simply produced a top-notch PGA Tour golf simulation without worrying about putting a specific golfer on its cover? That way, instead of figuring out how it can incorporate a golfer's biographical history into the game design, the company can just focus on what fans care about most: the actual gameplay!
